Families looking to adopt from Kazakhstan must meet certain requirements.
These requirements are a combination of the regulations set by the
Government of Kazakhstan, Family Tree Adoption Agency (FTAA), and the
Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration and Services (BCIS).
1. Couples and Single Women up to 50 years old or on a case by case
basis.
2. At least one adoptive applicant of a married couple must be a United
States citizen.
3. While the Agency prefers couples who have been married at least
one year prior to application, the quality and stability of the relationship
will be of primary concern.
4. Families may have other children when adopting from Kazakhstan.
5. Ability to meet state and federal requirements for adoption.
