	Qualifications to Adopt from Lithuania
				Children Available Qualifications Steps to Adopting Estimated Adoption Expenses

Families looking to adopt from Lithuania must meet certain requirements.  These requirements are a combination of the regulations set by the Government of Lithuania, Family Tree Adoption Agency (FTAA), and the US Citizenship and Immigration and Service (CIS). 

1. Couples up to 50 years old. (if one spouse is over 50, in rare instances may adopt a child over 10 years of age).
2. Single Women  may adopt a child over 6 years of age
3. At least one adoptive applicant of a married couple must be a United States citizen.
4. While the Agency prefers couples who have been married at least one year prior to application, the quality and stability of the relationship will be of primary concern.
5. Families may have other children when adopting from Lithuania.
6. Ability to meet state and federal requirements for adoption.
7. Flexibility to adopt either a boy or a girl.
