Families looking to adopt from the Ukraine must meet certain requirements. These requirements are a combination of the regulations set by the Government of the Ukraine, Family Tree Adoption Agency (FTAA), and the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration and Services (BCIS).
1. Couples and Single Women up to 50 years old or on a case by case basis.
2. Couples and Single Women must have a minimum total yearly income of
at least $30,000 per year.
3. At least one adoptive applicant of a married couple must be a United States citizen.
4. While the Agency prefers couples who have been married at least one year prior to application, the quality and stability of the relationship will be of primary concern.
5. Families may have other children when adopting from the Ukraine.
6. Ability to meet state and federal requirements for adoption.
