Family Tree Adoption Agency provides post placement supervision services to families who have adopted through the agency. Additionally, post placement supervision services may be contracted for separately by families who have adopted a child from another source or state. This includes private placement adoptions and international adoptions.

Post placement supervision addresses the child and family's adjustment to the placement. The agency understands that after a child has been placed with a family, many questions and concerns may arise concerning your child and his or her adjustment into your home. We believe that every adoptive parent and every child that’s adopted deserves and needs input from professionals who know and understand adoption. We offer support, referral and consultation during this time.

Post placement supervision visits are mostly home visits and in most cases are a requirement of the adoption. The number of post placement visits that you will have depends on the requirements of your agency or country that you adopt from. Most families need a minimum of two visits during the first 3-12 months after a child is placed with you. For International adoptions you may have more visits that extend over a two or three year period.

Upon completion of the visit, the Agency will write a post placement report and forward it to your child-placing agency. Sometimes families need support from adoption professionals long after post placement supervision services have ended. These services are known as “post adoption services” and are available through Crestmont Counseling Center of Family Tree Adoption Agency.
